Obituary

Robert M. Fehr, 87, was born September 7, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah and passed away January 9, 2018 from pneumonia.  Everyone knew him as Bob.  He returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father with his family encircled about him.

He married his high school sweetheart, Frances Stillman, and they would have celebrated 68 years of marriage later this month.  Bob was a graduate of Olympus High School and attended Westminster College up until he joined the service. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a medic in the Air Force and was later transferred to headquarters where he handled classified material. After the war, he managed the family business, The Optical Shop, for many years. He was a master Optician and one of the best around at fitting contact lenses.  He also had the unique skill of fitting the occasional glass eye.

He was an excellent horseman.  He trained and competed on many of his own cutting horses throughout the Western States and was a regular attendee at The World Championship Cutting Horse Futurities in Fort Worth, Texas. He and his favorite mare, Two B Best, received the Silver Award from the National Cutting Horse Association.

He was also an accomplished skier and in his younger years served on the ski patrol at Alta.  For a time, Bob enjoyed restoring old Ford Mustangs.  He was a skilled knifemaker and enjoyed this hobby up until his death.

Bob’s greatest accomplishment in this life was how he lovingly cared for his wife Frances who suffers from Alzheimer’s.  His two sons, Craig Michael Fehr and Chris David Fehr, preceded Bob in death.  He is survived by his wife, Frances Stillman Fehr, daughter Lori Fehr Crockett (Jeff), Grandsons; Travis Fehr, Jeffrey David Crockett, and Jonathan Robert Crockett, Granddaughters; Brittany Fehr, Megan Crockett Pickup (Zac), Kirstie Fehr, and Alyssa Fehr, and daughters in law Diane Harvey Fehr and Nancy Reese Fehr.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018, 6:30 PM at Noah’s Event Venue, 1976 West 700 North, Lindon, Utah.
