Langston Pattillo, winner of the 2018 Bonanza Amateur Classicchampionship on High Stylin CD, made a flawless transition into non-pro competition on Wednesday, with a 221-point win aboard High Stylin CD, in the 2019 Bonanza Non-Pro Classic.

Dustin Adams, the NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $3.9 million, was reserve with 218 points on Sly Pepto Playgirl, while Kylie Rice, an NCHA Non-Pro Hall of Fame earner of $510,321, placed third with 216.5 points riding Reyhannon.

Last year, Langston Pattillo showed 2018 NCHA Amateur Horse of the Year High Stylin CD to win five major limited-age amateur finals, including the Breeders Invitational and the NCHA Classic Challenge.  Six-year-old High Stylin CD $124,007, by High Brow CD, is out of the Docs Stylish Oak daughter Stylin Playgirl $203,277, who Dustin Adams showed as a non-pro to place fifth in the 2008 NCHA Futurity, third in the NCHA Super Stakes, and reserve champion in the NCHA Derby.

In addition to the Bonanza Non-Pro Classic reserve championship, this year Adams has shown 5-year-old Sly Pepto Girl $84,717, by One Time Pepto, to place fourth in the Abilene Spectacular and third in the Ike Hamilton. Sly Pepto Girl is out of Sly Playgirl $332,135, by That Sly Cat.

Adams won the 2003 Bonanza Non-Pro Classic riding Boonsmal Doctress $211,007, by Peptoboonsmal. He won again in 2008 on Reyann Hickory $313,457, by Dual Rey.

Kylie Rice showed Reyhannon $43,980 last year, as a 4-year-old non-pro finalist in the West Texas Derby, the NCHA Derby and the Southern Derby. Bred by Kevin and Sydney Knight and sired by Metallic Cat, Reyhannon is out of the Dual Rey daughter Reyhanna $146,501, who was 2013 Bonanza Open reserve champion under Kylie’s husband, Tatum Rice.
