NCHA Hall of Fame - Videos

The NCHA Hall of Fame is broken into four divisions; Horse, Non-Pro Rider, Open Rider and Members. Each of these divisions recognizes the accomplishments of our members and horses both inside and outside of the arena.

Horse Hall of Fame:

Recipients must meet one of the following criteria:

$150,000 in in the Open Championship class, this is the same earnings requirement as the Silver, Gold and Platinum awards
At least $400,000 in total recorded earnings
Win / Place 1st in the Top Tier Open Class of any two (or more) of the following six (6) major NCHA events: Futurity, Super Stakes (4-year-old), Derby (4-year-old), Super Stakes Classic (5/6-year-old), Summer Classic/Challenge (5/6-year-old), and/or NCHA Open World Champion.

Non-Pro Rider Hall of Fame:

Recipients must meet one of the following criteria:

Place first in the Top-Tier Non Pro at any two (2) NCHA Events: Futurity, Super Stakes, or Derby, World Championship.
Place first in the Top-Tier Non-Pro at any three (3) NCHA events: Super Stakes Classic, 5/6-Year-old Classic Challenge, Reserve World Champion.
Win one in category 1, plus two in category 2.
Have lifetime earnings of $500,000 in NCHA approved Non-Pro or Open classes excluding Unapproved classes, Amateur earnings, Breed World Shows, Incentives and Western Horseman show. Includes Championship Novice Non Pro classes.
Have in excess of $150,000 in earnings from Championship show Non Pro classes. (Excludes novice/non-pro classes).

Open Rider Hall of Fame:

Recipients must meet one of the following criteria:

Win any two (2): NCHA Futurity, Super Stakes, Derby, World Champion
Win any three (3): Super Stakes Classic, 5/6-year-old Classic/ Challenge, Reserve World Champion.
Win one (1) in category 1 plus two in category 2.
Ride horses placing in the top 5 year end World Finals Open class standings five (5). A rider must win 90% of the qualifying money to receive credit.
Have in excess of $1,000,000 NCHA lifetime earnings excluding earnings from Challenger classes, Championship Novice classes, Unapproved classes, Non-Pro classes, Amateur classes, Breed World Show classes, Incentives and the Western Horseman show.

Members Hall of Fame:

The NCHA Members Hall of Fame was established to recognize those individuals who have made outstanding and unusual contributions to the NCHA basic purpose, which is the public exhibition and constant promotion of the Cutting Horse. We are proud to honor these individuals who have exhibited a high moral character, good sportsmanship, fairness, and an exemplary contribution of time, effort and interest in NCHA and its basic endeavors. To nominate a deserving individual to the Members Hall of Fame, a nomination form must be filled out and the appropriate number of nomination letters provided. The nomination form is found on the NCHA web- site or can be requested from the office.

The Hall of Fame selection committee shall consist of five individuals of which one new member is appointed each year by the current President. Each member will serve a five-year term as a way to keep continuity on the committee. It is recommended that at least one member is a current Executive Committee member. The Committee members shall elect a Chairman from its members each year. This Committee screens all nominees and submits a recommendation to the Executive Committee. Inductions will be limited to a maximum of six (6) inductees per year and nominees will be eligible for consideration for five years after receipt of their nomination.
