The NCHA Senior World Tour (SWT) is a year-long race among eligible riders that show during the 2024 NCHA point year. Complete Rules in PDF form are available at this link.
SWT classes are open to any rider, regardless of status (Open, Non-Pro, Amateur) that:
Any approved Weekend Championship or Weekend Challenger show may run a concurrent Senior World Tour show. SWT classes must be held as sub-classes (class within a class) of the classes listed below. Entry into the main Championship or Challenger show class is required – after which the SWT class may be added for an additional fee. Seniors will only ride to the herd one time and the score received will count for both the Championship / Challenger class AND the SWT class.
Individual Affiliates/Producers are allowed to determine the total entry fee for their SWT classes. However, fees must meet the following guidelines:
Added money is not allowed.
Points will be awarded in the following eligible classes:
Riders earn points based on their placings in their respective SWT classes according to the following point system that mirrors the mandatory payout scale. However, unlike the mandatory payout, there is no minimum entry count requirement, and one (1) point will be given to the winner of classes with 1-3 entries.
Utilizing points instead of monies is an effort to provide a level playing field. It allows the Affiliates/Producers the ability modify jackpot amounts without giving any show a monetary advantage.
Only points earned in the above manner count toward year-end standings. However, ALL SWT monies earned count toward both Rider and Horse lifetime earnings and eligibility.
NATIONAL SWT TOP 10 – Final year-end point standings in all eligible classes will be used to determine the National Senior World Tour Top 10 riders. Buckles will be awarded to the Champion, Reserve Champion and remaining top 8 riders who have the minimum 3 points required for awards. These buckles will mailed to participants.
